There are countless reasons that Exterra and Nemesis should be your first point of call for the monitoring and controlling of the termite population in and around your home.

  • Firstly, both termite baiting systems proactively monitor termite activity in your yard.
  • Secondly, both reduce the pressure on your home caused by termite colonies, eliminating them.
  • And thirdly, the baiting systems affect termites when molting, they are unable to form an exoskeleton and ultimately die.

Placed around your home, the Exterra system contains a gaseous substance, which termites adore, spread over a 2 metre radius. Linked together around your home, Exterra forms a termite interception zone, protecting your property from the encroaching threat. Exterra naturally directs termites to the interception zone, rather than your home, luring them to their “last meal”.

If you choose another termite baiting system, the insects are liable to pass between gaps in the small stations, and find a way into your home. The Exterra system contains internationally patented technology, creating a barrier between the termite population and your home.

Our unique Termite Interception Zone prevents termites from passing between stations, thus blocking their entry into your home.

Nemesis is another unique termite baiting system which decimates the population around your home and yard.

The nemesis system is generally recommended following a thorough termite inspection performed by a POM technician who finds a termite infestation in your home or yard.

Nemesis above ground stations are placed directly onto active areas, which attract the termites and result in swift colony elimination. Another option entails in-ground stations being deployed around the perimeter of your home. In this method, timber inserts which are highly attractive to termites are placed inside the external stations, and closely monitored for termite activity.

The Nemesis baiting system presents an innovative, proven approach to efficient termite control. The benefits of the Nemesis system are:

  • It is a far less invasive treatment process than traditional harsh chemical options used by other pest control companies.
The Nemesis method is transparent, which allows for co-operative approach to termite control. As Nemesis is specifically designed to target termite infestation, the risk of harm to non-target insect or animal species is greatly reduced.
  • Finally, when compared to traditional chemical-laden termite control methods, the risk of environmental damage is virtually non-existent.

Both baiting systems work by placing a device in the soil which contains timber (Tasmanian Oak) affected by fugal decay, which attracts the termite population.

When the stations are inspected bi-monthly, either by the home owner or pest control technician, termite activity is detected.

Once found, a bait matrix is placed in the station, then baited and monitored monthly until ultimately colony elimination occurs.

We are conveniently based in Tweed Heads, not far from the Gold Coast to discuss your options.

Anything Less than 100% Total Colony Elimination isn’t ‘Gone for Good’

Even the most widely advertised alternatives to EXTERRA, liquid applied termite control chemicals, come up short when it comes to the extent of their effect on a termite colony. Sure, they can kill the termites that are in your home now, and a lot of the termites in the ground under it, but they haven’t been demonstrated to eliminate entire termite colonies in the ground where they originate. The creation of the EXTERRA Termite Interception Zone ensures that protection is ongoing, where as chemical deposits age in the soil and breakdown. This means chemicals eventually reach a point where they no longer affect the termites, and once more the termites return to attack your home.

There is not one published, peer reviewed scientific paper demonstrating colony elimination of our economically important local termite species with any liquid applied termite control product on the market today. In fact the performance claims on the registered product labels for these liquid chemicals (claims which have to be supported by trial data for review and approval by leading, independent scientists) make no claim whatsoever regarding colony elimination!

Will the EXTERRA Stations attract Termites to my home?

Rest easy, the answer is no. The EXTERRA Stations are there to protect your home and will only intercept those termites that have entered into and are actually foraging in your garden. If the Stations weren’t there, then these termites would eventually seek out and attack your home.

With EXTERRA, Stations with FOCUS Termite Attractant™ are discretely placed around your home.

The FOCUS evolves the gaseous attractant that termites adore over a 2 m radius. Thus, when the EXTERRA Stations are placed around your home, they link together to form the EXTERRA Termite Interception Zone™, protecting your home. EXTERRA then does its job naturally by directing termites to the Stations and not to your home, luring them to their “Last Supper”

If you choose another baiting system, the termites are likely to pass between the small stations and again find their way into your home. This is because the Termite Interception Zone that stops termites passing between our Stations is unique to EXTERRA and protected by international patents.

Nemesis

NEMESIS is an Australian termite bait system designed to attract and eliminate termite colonies in a safe non invasive way. It uses an insect growth regulator(IGR), Chlorfluazuron, as the active constituent in the Nemesis bait. Active termites feed on the highly attractive bait food source & translocate the IGR to other members of the colony, at levels undetectable by those termites, until the colony collapses. Nemesis termite bait is a registered product under the requirements of legislation administered by the Australian Pesticides and Vetinary Medicines Authority.

The system uses a number of unique stations for inground & above ground interception of active termites.

How does it work?

First a professional pest manager will inspect your home for termites, and if they are found or if the risk of possible activity is high, the Nemesis termite bait system will be recommended.

If termites are found, Nemesis above ground stations are placed directly over the active areas; this engages the termites and results in faster colony elimination.

Otherwise, Nemesis inground stations are deployed around the perimeter of your home. Termite attractive timber inserts are placed inside these external stations and are monitored on a regular basis for termite activity.

Why should I choose this system?

The NEMESIS Termite Monitoring and Baiting System:

  • Is an innovative and proven approach to termite control.
  • Is an effective solution that is less invasive or disruptive as a treatment process compared to more traditional chemical methods.
  • Is a visible method and the process is transparent, allowing for a co-operative approach to termite control with your chosen pest manager.
  • Greatly reduces the risk to non-target insect or animal species, by targeting termite colonies.
  • Reduces the risk of environmental damage, especially compared with chemical treatment methods.
  • Can be used either as a localised treatment to a specific area of your home, or as a full installation to the perimeter.
  • Can be applied to other structures on your property, such as sheds, gazebos, decking or fences.
